Killjoy Gamez was founded in 2019 by Kingsley Campbell, marking the beginning of a deeply personal journey into independent game development. From a young age, Kingsley found joy and connection through gaming whether it was intense battles in Tekken or dancing through DDR sessions with close friends in his childhood bedroom. As life unfolded and personal circumstances made it harder to stay connected, gaming remained a constant a bridge across distance, time, and change.

With a background in computer science, engineering, and an enduring passion for creative problem solving, Kingsley set out to build something more than just games. He envisioned a studio that could capture the spirit of those early experiences: fun, friendship, and the magic of shared play. Thus, Killjoy Gamez was born.

The name itself is a tribute to the gaming group Kingsley formed with his closest friends nearly two decades ago. Each member adopted the name “Killjoy” followed by an elemental alias a symbol of camaraderie and identity forged through play. That legacy lives on in the studio’s mission: to craft experiences that bring people together, spark emotion, and leave a lasting impact.
